Chanting the Sri Rudram, the pandit bathes the Shiva linga and names you, your gotra and up to three others in the sankalp. Afterwards, the seva is shared with you in photos or video on WhatsApp.

What is Rudrabhishekam on Pradosham?

At the heart of Rudrabhishekam is the Sri Rudram, the Namakam and Chamakam hymns of the Krishna Yajurveda. While it is chanted, the pandit pours water, milk, curd, honey, ghee and other materials over the Shiva linga, one after another. Bilva leaves are then offered, followed by an archana and the aarti. In Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh the name is spelled Rudrabhishekam, and in Karnataka Rudrabhisheka. For this booking it is done on Pradosham by a pandit who follows your family's South Indian tradition. Your name and gotra open the rite in the sankalp.

Why devotees book it

Praying on Pradosham for good health and a long life for loved ones

Seeking a calm mind and a peaceful home through Shiva's worship

A traditional prayer for planetary peace when the graha period is hard

Thanking Shiva with the Sri Rudram after a prayer has been answered

When to book

As its name says, this booking is kept on Pradosham.
