Karthi Puja at Kateel: Procedure, Naivedyam and Family Preparation

Karthi Puja: jasmine, a coconut and a lamp on a banana leaf for a Devi puja

Kateel Karthi Puja combines a lamp offering with aralu-and-jaggery naivedyam. The priests follow the temple’s practice. For a participating family, the useful preparation is to understand the dedication and each element of the offering.

Understanding the elements helps a devotee participate thoughtfully. It also prevents a common mistake: adding the procedures of a different puja because both use lamps or are offered to the Devi.

Begin with the dedication

For a booking in a family’s name, the sankalp identifies those for whom the worship is offered. Prepare the names clearly, with gotra if known. In the Divine Hindu arrangement, birth star can also be supplied when known.

Do not substitute a Western sun sign for a nakshatra or invent a gotra to fill a form. Accurate information, or a clear statement that something is unknown, lets the officiating priest guide the wording appropriately.

The lamp offering

Use the temple’s own service description as the starting point. Obtain instructions before buying a lamp or fuel for an attended ceremony; details from an unrelated online ritual may not apply.

If you attend, follow the temple’s instructions about where to stand and when to participate. Let the priest manage the offering rather than reaching into the worship space or moving ritual items to improve a photograph.

The aralu and jaggery naivedyam

Keep the local offering name when asking questions about preparation. A generic photograph of a sweet or puffed snack does not establish a recipe, portion or acceptable substitute for a temple service.

Do not assume the family must cook or courier the food. Ask what the arranged service supplies before buying ingredients. If a particular household has food-handling or allergy concerns for anything it may receive, discuss those directly rather than assuming an ingredient substitution can be made within the temple’s offering.

Temple seva and worship at home

Lighting a lamp during familiar household prayer can be meaningful, but it does not automatically reproduce Kateel’s named service. A temple offering has its own priests, setting and established method.

A family sponsoring the seva can make time for a simple Devi prayer at home. Explain the occasion and the meaning of the offering to children, and follow a prayer already known to the household. There is no need to create a second technical ceremony from fragments of a video.

Keep additions clear

The Divine Hindu Karthi Puja listing separately offers meal sponsorship, Annadana, Vidyadana and Nandini Go Seva as possible additions. Their purposes differ: food service, educational support and care for cows are not additional names for the lamp offering.

Choose an addition because that form of service matters to you, and have its own date and scope confirmed. Tulabhara and Yakshagana sevas are excluded from this booking. They should not be assumed from general photographs or descriptions of Kateel.

Participation and completion

The stated arrangement allows up to four names, subject to confirmation before processing, and the team checks whether the seva can proceed without your presence. Afterwards, expect the agreed temple receipt or WhatsApp confirmation.

A private video is not promised and photographs depend on temple permission. Prasad is not sent to your address. These practical boundaries help the family plan its participation without turning a temple offering into an assumed filming or delivery package.
