Divine Hindu mobile application

This section covers the Divine Hindu mobile application for Android, distributed through Google Play. It applies in addition to the rest of this policy.

Information the app collects

You give us:

  • Mobile number — used to sign you in. We send a one-time password by SMS through our SMS provider. We store the number to identify your account.
  • Name, email address and city — optional, for your account and order updates.
  • Date, time and place of birth — used to calculate your kundli, matching report, panchang and horoscope. These are stored so your charts are available when you return.
  • Profile photograph — optional. Chosen from your device gallery. We request access to your photos only at the moment you choose one, and only the image you select is uploaded.
  • Delivery name, address, pincode and contact number — when you order a physical item.
  • Messages you send to an astrologer — stored so the conversation is available to you and to the astrologer you consulted.

Collected automatically:

  • Advertising ID — the resettable identifier Google provides on your device. We use it for analytics and to measure the performance of our advertising, including which app installs came from our campaigns. You can reset it or opt out of personalised advertising at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
  • Device and app information — device model, operating system version, app version, language and approximate region, for diagnostics and analytics.
  • App activity — screens opened and features used, to understand how the app is used.
  • Crash diagnostics — if the app stops unexpectedly, a technical crash report.
  • Push notification token — an identifier issued by the notification service, used to deliver reminders and order updates you have enabled. Push notifications are optional.
  • Wallet and purchase records — your balance, recharges, and what you spent it on.

The app does not collect your precise location, contacts, calendar, microphone audio or camera images. It does not read your SMS messages; the one-time password must be entered by you.

Why we use it

To create and secure your account; to produce the astrological calculations and reports you ask for; to take payment and deliver what you buy; to run consultations with astrologers; to send reminders and updates you have opted into; to diagnose crashes; to measure app usage and advertising performance; and to meet legal and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share only what each provider needs:

  • Google (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Google Ads) — app usage, crash reports, advertising ID and advertising measurement.
  • Payment gateways — to process payments. Card details are entered on the gateway's own secure page and are never stored by us or accessible to the app.
  • Our SMS provider — your mobile number, to deliver the one-time password.
  • Shopify — order, delivery and payment information for products you buy.
  • Astrologers you consult — your first name and the birth details needed for the reading, together with the messages you send them.
  • Our hosting and content providers — who store this data on our behalf under contract.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and its associated records for as long as your account is open, and afterwards only where we must for tax, accounting or legal reasons.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Account → Delete my account inside the app. This removes your profile, birth records, chat history and saved charts. Records we are legally required to retain, such as invoices for completed purchases, are kept for the required period and then deleted.

Your choices

  • Reset or opt out of the advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
  • Turn push notifications off in the app, or in Android Settings.
  • Decline photo access; a profile picture is optional.
  • Contact us at the address in this policy to access or correct your information.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
