Krishna Seva — Sri Krishna Matha, Udupi
What This Remedy Does
This Krishna Seva is an offering to Udupi Krishna at the Sri Krishna Matha in Udupi, sponsored in your name. It is offered through the Matha under its current Paryaya, with up to four names and your gotra in the sankalp. Our team confirms the seva for your date on WhatsApp, and the temple receipt or a confirmation follows there afterwards.
What is Krishna Seva?
At the Sri Krishna Matha in Udupi, devotees sponsor sevas to Krishna that are performed through the day. Worship there is led in turn by the eight Ashta Mathas, each for a two-year term called the Paryaya. Your Krishna Seva is offered in your name under the current Paryaya. Which seva is available on your date is confirmed with the Matha and then with you. Your name and gotra are spoken in the sankalp, the dedication that makes the offering yours.
Why devotees book it
- Devotion to Udupi Krishna at the Matha founded by Madhvacharya
- Thanksgiving to Krishna after a prayer is answered or a family milestone
- A prayer for the well-being of the family, including its children
- Keeping a vow made to Krishna, as an offering in faith
When to book
Ekadasi, the eleventh day of each lunar fortnight, and Thursdays are traditional days for a seva to Krishna, and Krishna Janmashtami above all. Because the Matha confirms which seva is available on a date under its current Paryaya, our team agrees the day with you on WhatsApp.
About Sri Krishna Matha
The Sri Krishna Matha in Udupi, in Udupi district on the Karnataka coast, was founded by the philosopher-saint Madhvacharya in the 13th century. Devotees see Krishna through the Kanakana Kindi, a small window linked with the poet-saint Kanakadasa. The eight Ashta Mathas take turns to lead its worship, each for a two-year Paryaya. For many devotees, a seva in their name here is a way to share in the worship that fills the Matha's day.
