Karthigai Deepam Pujas

Karthigai Deepam 2026 falls on Tuesday 24 November, when the Karthigai (Krittika) star meets the full moon of the Tamil month of Karthigai. It is Tamil Nadu’s festival of lamps: homes and temples light rows of lamps at dusk. At Tiruvannamalai, the Pancha Bhoota temple of fire, a great flame is lit on top of Arunachala hill.

Book an abhishekam or archana in your name at Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai, at other Shiva temples of Tamil Nadu such as Chidambaram, Kanchipuram, Thiruvanaikaval and Rameswaram, or at the six abodes of Murugan, where Karthigai is also kept.

Read how Karthigai Deepam is kept at Tiruvannamalai and at home.

Each puja page shows what is included, who performs it and when your video or proof reaches you. Your name and gotra are taken in the sankalp.
