Skanda Sashti Pujas

Skanda Sashti 2026 runs from Tuesday 10 to Sunday 15 November, ending with Soorasamharam on Sunday 15 November. Also called Kanda Sashti, it is the six-day festival of Murugan in the Tamil month of Aippasi. Devotees keep the Kanda Sashti vratam and remember Murugan’s victory over the asura Soorapadman, re-enacted each year on the seashore at Tiruchendur.

Book a puja in your name at the six abodes of Murugan in Tamil Nadu: Tiruchendur, Palani, Swamimalai, Thiruparankundram, Tiruttani and Pazhamudircholai. Pujas are also offered at the Subramanya temples of Ghati, near Bengaluru, and Mopidevi in Andhra Pradesh.

Read our guide to the six abodes of Murugan and how the six-day Skanda Sashti vratham is kept at home.

Each puja page shows what is included, who performs it and when your video or proof reaches you. Your name and gotra are taken in the sankalp.
