The Cheluvanarayana Swamy Temple stands at Melukote, on the rocky Yadugiri hills of Mandya district, Karnataka. By tradition, the Sri Vaishnava teacher Ramanujacharya lived here for about twelve years. The Vairamudi festival, when the deity wears a diamond crown, is the town's great celebration.
