Pushpabhishekam — Sabarimala Sree Dharma Sastha Temple
What This Remedy Does
Pushpabhishekam at Sabarimala is the showering of Sree Dharma Sastha, Lord Ayyappa, with flowers, booked online in your name at his hill shrine. The temple's priests perform it on a day the temple is open, with up to four names in the sankalp. The Sabarimala temple receipt, or a confirmation, then reaches you on WhatsApp.
What is Pushpabhishekam?
Pushpabhishekam means showering the deity with flowers while mantras are chanted. At Sabarimala it is offered to Sree Dharma Sastha, known to devotees as Ayyappa. Tulasi, lotus and jasmine are among the flowers and leaves used. The seva is booked in your name and birth star, and the temple's priests perform it only on the days the temple is open.
Why devotees book it
- Devotion to Lord Ayyappa, offered in your name at Sabarimala
- Thanksgiving after completing a pilgrimage to the hill or a vow
- A prayer for protection for the family, made through flowers showered on the Lord
- Peace of mind, sought from Ayyappa in faith
When to book
Pushpabhishekam can only be performed when Sabarimala is open: during the Mandala-Makaravilakku season and on the first days of each Malayalam month. Saturdays within those open days are a traditional choice. After booking, we confirm with you on WhatsApp which open date your seva will take.
About Sabarimala Sree Dharma Sastha Temple
Sabarimala is the hill shrine of Sree Dharma Sastha, or Ayyappa, in the Western Ghats of Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. The temple opens only for the Mandala-Makaravilakku season and the first days of each Malayalam month. Pilgrims traditionally keep a 41-day vratham, a vow of discipline, and carry the irumudi kettu, their bundle of offerings, up the hill. For devotees who cannot make the climb, a flower offering in their name here is a heartfelt link to the Lord.
