Meaning and tradition
In Rudraksha tradition, 7 Mukhi is linked with Mahalakshmi, the goddess of wealth. 8 Mukhi is linked with Lord Ganesha, the Remover of Obstacles.
Lakshmi and Ganesha are worshipped together in many homes, especially at Diwali. Friday is the day dedicated to Maa Lakshmi. These associations come from tradition and promise no result.
How to wear and care
Wear the kavach on a cord or in a cap, keeping the 8 Mukhi at the centre. Many people wear it daily, and some chant a Lakshmi mantra during japa.
