Rule of thumb: perform the shraddha on the tithi on which the person passed away. If the tithi is not known, choose Sarva Pitru Amavasya, Saturday 10 October. About this puja
Asthi Visarjan is the immersion of a departed person's ashes in the Ganga with tarpan and pind daan. When the family cannot travel to Kashi, Divine Hindu's Varanasi pandit receives the asthi by courier and performs the visarjan at Manikarnika ghat with the prescribed rites, on the date you choose, for ₹5,100 — with the video shared and prasad sent home.

Asthi visarjan is not tied to Pitru Paksha — choose any date. During the fortnight it is commonly combined with tarpan or tithi shraddha; add those separately.

Rule of thumb: perform the shraddha on the tithi (lunar day) on which the person passed away. If the tithi is not known, choose Sarva Pitru Amavasya, Saturday 10 October 2026. The pandits fix the exact muhurat on the day; on 26 September the lunar eclipse moves tarpan to after moksha-kaal.
How to book
- Choose the package and the location where you want it performed.
- Pick the shraddha date. Any date; allow 5–7 days for the asthi to reach Kashi by courier.
- Enter the sankalp details: number of persons (1 to 4), each ancestor's name and relation, your own name as karta, and your gotra (write Kashyap if unknown).
- Add daan (Brahmin bhojan, gau seva, anna daan, vastra daan, deep daan) if you wish, and pay.
Book at least one day before the chosen date. Our team confirms every booking on WhatsApp. Date changes are accepted subject to the pandits' availability; cancellations follow our refund policy.
Questions about this puja
How do I send the asthi to Varanasi?
After booking, our team shares the receiving address in Kashi and simple packing guidance on WhatsApp. Use a tracked courier; the asthi is received by our pandit, kept respectfully, and the visarjan is performed on the agreed date once it arrives.
Why Manikarnika ghat?
Manikarnika is Kashi's principal cremation ghat and the traditional place for asthi visarjan in the Ganga; the shastras hold that rites performed here help the departed on the way to moksha.
How much does asthi visarjan at Manikarnika cost?
₹5,100, including safe receipt of the asthi, the sankalp, visarjan with tarpan and pind daan, deep daan, dakshina and samagri. Courier charges to Kashi are paid by you.
Can it be done during Pitru Paksha?
Yes. Asthi visarjan can be performed on any date. If it falls in Pitru Paksha, families often add tarpan or tithi shraddha for the same person; book those separately.
Is it done in my presence or by video?
The pandit performs it on your behalf and records it; the video is shared on WhatsApp. If you can travel, tell our team and the date can be set for your visit.
Who can be the karta?
Yes. Any family member can be the karta (the person offering the puja) — sons, daughters, spouses or grandchildren. The pandits take the sankalp in the karta's name and gotra; write “Kashyap” if the gotra is not known.

Write “Kashyap” — traditionally used when the gotra is not known — and the sankalp is completed correctly.
Yes. Choose the number of persons (1 to 4) in the booking form and enter each name with the relation. For more than four, contact us on WhatsApp after booking.
Our own pandits in Gaya and Kashi perform it with the full vidhi. Your name, gotra and each ancestor’s name are chanted, and the video reaches you on WhatsApp within 3–4 days.
Gaya is for moksha pind daan, the once-in-a-lifetime ritual at Vishnupad, Falgu and Akshayavat. Kashi is for tarpan, tithi shraddha, Tripindi Shraddha at Pishach Mochan Kund and asthi visarjan. Where a puja is offered at both, the price differs by location.
Bookings close the evening before the date. Same-day requests are taken on WhatsApp only, subject to the pandits’ availability.
Shraddha is an act of faith, gratitude and duty toward one’s ancestors, performed with full vidhi. It is offered in that spirit.
