Meaning and tradition
Karungali is a dark ebony wood that devotees use for malas, and the silver caps give the beads an elegant finish. A 108-bead strand is the traditional count for japa, while shorter lengths are worn as necklaces. These are traditional associations, not promised results.
How to wear and care
Pick the 108-bead length if you intend to count full japa rounds. Choose the 54 or 72-bead length to wear it as a daily necklace under clothing. Ebony deepens in tone with skin contact over the years. Dry the silver caps after bathing and buff them with a soft cloth to slow tarnishing.
