Meaning and tradition
In Hindu tradition, the Nirakar aspect of Lord Shiva is the formless, undifferentiated Brahman. The Zero Mukhi bead is held to embody Shunya, the primordial stillness before creation.
It is also linked with the Sahasrara (Crown) Chakra, and is traditionally sought by advanced practitioners for self-realisation and detachment. These associations promise no result.

As a single bead, it is usually silver-capped and worn on a short thread near the throat. It can also be kept in the puja space rather than handled daily.
