Original Narmadeshwar Shivling
The Original Narmadeshwar Shivling is a naturally occurring "Swayambhu" (self-manifested) stone, found only in the bed of the sacred Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh. Centuries of river flow have shaped it into the lingam form. Its natural tilak markings show earthy tones of red, brown and tan.
Product details
- Material: natural Narmadeshwar stone from the Narmada River.
- Origin: Narmada River, Madhya Pradesh.
- Markings: natural tilak and yoni markings in red, brown and tan.
- Shape: compact, smooth and rounded, for home altars.
- Status: a Swayambhu Shivling, shaped by river flow.
Meaning and tradition
In Hindu tradition, Narmadeshwar is worshipped as a Swayambhu form of Shiva. Because it is regarded as self-manifested, formal consecration is not strictly required. Many devotees keep it on the home altar for daily abhishek and prayer.
How to use and care
Being river stone rather than wood or metal, this Shivling takes daily abhishek well. Rest it in a shallow brass or copper thali so water drains away instead of pooling under the base.
Tradition sets it in the north or east of the home altar, with the yoni spout turned north. A soft dry cloth after each abhishek is all the cleaning it needs.

Meaning, use and care
Choose the depicted deity or sacred symbol according to your own devotional practice. The piece can serve as a personal reminder to make time for prayer and reflection.
Choose a stable place where you can see and appreciate the design. Compare its dimensions with your shelf, altar or display space before placing it, and avoid positions where it can be knocked over.
Dust gently and keep the piece away from splashes, harsh cleaners and rough handling. Follow the description's instructions for wood, stone, metal, glass or any plated components.
Review the actual dimensions, material and finish rather than judging scale from photographs alone. Check what is supplied and how the piece is intended to stand or be displayed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Read the individual product's material, size, bead count and origin details before ordering. Where a certificate is linked on the product page, open it and check which product it covers. Contact us before purchasing if you need help confirming a specification.
Are the products energised before shipping?
Yes. Our spiritual products are cleansed and energised following traditional Vedic rituals before they reach you, so they are ready to use on arrival.
Do you ship across India and internationally?
Delivery availability and charges depend on the destination. See our shipping policy and the options shown at checkout before placing your order.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery timing depends on the destination and selected service. See our shipping policy for details. Tracking is shared once your order ships.
What is your return and refund policy?
For damaged, defective or incorrect items, contact us promptly and review the eligibility, evidence and time limits in our refund policy. The applicable remedy depends on that policy.
How do I choose the right Rudraksha or gemstone for me?
You can shop by purpose (peace, protection, wealth, health) or by your rashi (zodiac). If you're unsure, our team can guide you via chat or the contact details on our site.
How do I care for and cleanse my mala or bracelet?
Follow the care details for the exact materials and finish on your product page. Keep beads away from perfume and harsh chemicals, and wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Sunlight is not a universal care method; our Amethyst listings advise keeping the stone out of sustained or strong sunlight.
