Rule of thumb: perform the shraddha on the tithi on which the person passed away. If the tithi is not known, choose Sarva Pitru Amavasya, Saturday 10 October. About this puja
Narayan Bali and Nag Bali are the two rituals prescribed for the gravest pitru afflictions: Narayan Bali for a soul that left the body unnaturally — by accident, violence or suicide — or without last rites, and Nag Bali for sarpa dosh and the killing of a serpent in the lineage. Divine Hindu's pandit team performs both together over one day at the Varanasi ghats (₹25,000) or at Vishnupad, Gaya (₹31,000), during Pitru Paksha 2026.

Rule of thumb: perform the shraddha on the tithi (lunar day) on which the person passed away. If the tithi is not known, choose Sarva Pitru Amavasya, Saturday 10 October 2026. The pandits fix the exact muhurat on the day; on 26 September the lunar eclipse moves tarpan to after moksha-kaal.

What is Narayan Bali?
Narayan Bali is a Vedic rite performed for a person whose death was unnatural — accident, violence, suicide, drowning — or whose last rites could not be completed. A symbolic body is made from wheat flour, the last rites are performed for it with Vishnu (Narayan) as witness, followed by tarpan, pind daan and Brahmin bhojan, so that the soul can move on.
What is Nag Bali and who needs it?
Nag Bali is the companion rite for sarpa dosh — when a serpent was killed by an ancestor, or Kaal Sarp or sarpa yogas appear in the kundli — and is traditionally linked to childlessness and repeated obstacles. It is performed with Narayan Bali on the same day.
How much do Narayan Bali and Nag Bali cost?
₹25,000 at the Varanasi ghats and ₹31,000 at Vishnupad, Gaya, for both rites together, including the pandit team, havan, tarpan, pind daan, Brahmin bhojan, dakshina and samagri.
Which day is best for Narayan Bali during Pitru Paksha?
Ghata Chaturdashi, Friday 9 October 2026, is the tithi traditionally set aside for untimely deaths. Sarva Pitru Amavasya (10 October) is chosen when the tithi is unknown. Book at least two days ahead so the team can be confirmed.
Does the family need to be present?
Not required. The rites are performed on your behalf with the sankalp in the karta's name and gotra, and the full video is shared. If you wish to attend in person, tell our team on WhatsApp when booking.
How will I know it was performed?
Your name, gotra and each ancestor's name are spoken aloud in the sankalp, and the puja is recorded. The video reaches you on WhatsApp within 3–4 days; prasad and holy water follow by courier in 8–10 days.

Gaya is for moksha pind daan, the once-in-a-lifetime ritual at Vishnupad, Falgu and Akshayavat. Kashi is for tarpan, tithi shraddha, Tripindi Shraddha at Pishach Mochan Kund and asthi visarjan. Where a puja is offered at both, the price differs by location.
Bookings close the evening before the date. Same-day requests are taken on WhatsApp only, subject to the pandits’ availability.
