Using your piece
Burn a stick in a suitable incense holder on a heat-resistant surface, with ventilation and space for falling ash. Keep burning incense away from children, pets, curtains and other flammable materials.
Care and storage
Store unlit sticks dry and away from heat. Never leave burning incense unattended, and make sure it is fully extinguished before you leave the area.

Light the incense stick, allow the flame to catch, then gently blow it out so it smolders and releases fragrant smoke. Place it in an incense holder at a safe distance from flammable materials. Offer it to the deity by waving it in a clockwise circular motion during aarti.
Traditionally, odd numbers, 1, 3, 5, or 11 are considered auspicious. One stick for daily puja, three for special occasions, and eleven for major rituals or festivals is a common practice.
